INSTALLATION
1. Back up the entire world folder.
2. Place Balanced_Villager_Trades_26.2.zip, without extracting it, in:
   .minecraft/saves/YOUR_WORLD/datapacks
3. Enter the world and run /reload if commands are enabled.
4. Run /datapack list and confirm that the pack appears under enabled packs.

GUARANTEED DIRT TRADE
A novice mason sells 32 dirt for 1 emerald. Its workstation is a stonecutter.
In vanilla 26.2 this trade is guaranteed because a novice mason selects all two
vanilla offers and all six custom offers assigned to that level. Another mod or
datapack changing the same tag or trade_set can alter this guarantee.

EXISTING VILLAGERS
- A new villager, or one that has not yet accepted a profession, is recommended.
- A villager with no completed trades can reroll novice offers when its
workstation is broken and placed again.
- Offers already stored in a villager's NBT are not rewritten by /reload.
- A villager that has already been traded with keeps its saved offers. If it
advances to a level that was not unlocked before installation, that level's
offers are selected from the currently loaded datapacks.

LEVELS AND OFFER SELECTION
Most professions select four offers per level. Farmers select five, shepherds
select six, and novice masons select eight. One villager does not receive all
295 offers. Several villagers may be required to see every color and material.
Offers cannot be rerolled after the first completed trade locks the villager.

WHY REGULAR STONE AND CHEAP CLAY BALLS ARE NOT SOLD
Vanilla masons buy regular stone and clay balls. Zombie-villager curing and
Hero of the Village can lower buying thresholds enough to create emerald and XP
arbitrage. The pack therefore uses safer equivalents:
- 1 emerald -> 24 smooth stone;
- 1 emerald -> 8 terracotta.
This is an intentional balance decision, not a missing trade.

PROGRESSION-SENSITIVE MATERIALS
Version 1.0.1 raises prices and lowers restock limits for gunpowder, redstone,
slime balls, blaze powder, magma cream, phantom membranes, ghast tears, sponges,
blaze rods, ender pearls, and Eyes of Ender. Blaze powder is master-only.
These offers remain convenient without replacing mob farms or major exploration
with a few stacks of sticks. Common building materials intentionally remain cheap.

ITEM-FOR-ITEM EXCHANGES
Every custom trade uses one normal payment slot. For example, the interface
shows one stack of 64 cobblestone for 64 dirt and one stack of 16 wheat seeds
for 8 beetroot seeds. Hero of the Village can discount the entire first slot.
At very high effect levels, some cyclic material exchanges may become
profitable. This is an intentional compromise for a clean, vanilla-style GUI.
reputation_discount=0.0 still disables reputation-based discounts and demand
increases for the new offers.

DISABLING OR REMOVING THE PACK
- Disable: /datapack disable "file/Balanced_Villager_Trades_26.2.zip"
- Remove: leave the world, delete the ZIP from datapacks, and reopen the world.
- Offers already saved in villager NBT may remain after removal. Always keep a
world backup before installing or removing the pack.

MULTIPLAYER, FABRIC, AND ESSENTIAL
The datapack runs on the host or server. Joining players do not install it.
This applies to dedicated servers, LAN hosts, and worlds shared through
Essential. Fabric Loader is compatible; Fabric API is not required. Mods or
datapacks modifying the same trade tags or trade sets can conflict depending on
pack priority.

REPORTING A PROBLEM
Provide the game version, installed mods/datapacks, the output of /datapack list,
and the relevant section of .minecraft/logs/latest.log beginning with the first
ERROR related to the datapack.
